De nominaties voor de MTV EMA zijn bekend. Lady Gaga maakt tijdens de uitreiking de meeste kans om in de prijzen te vallen, zij is namelijk zeven keer genomineerd. BTS, Harry Styles en Little Mix sleepte ook meerdere nominaties in de wacht.
Ook Nederlanders nemen de strijd tegen elkaar op. Bilial Wahib, Davina Michelle, Emma Heesters, Tabitha en Suzan & Freek, zijn namelijk genomineerd voor Best Dutch Act.
