Denmark made in Minecraft is the Reason why we don't Get Nice Things Let's face the facts: Learning about your country and government is not always the most exciting thing in this world. This is why the Danish Geodata Agency recreated the entire country of Denmark in 1:1 scale within Minecraft - to make learning more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Internet had its own agenda and decided to teach those Danes the lesson of ... we don't even know. Why can't the world have nice things? See, despite the DGA turning off dynamite on the map they created that used more than 4 trillion blocks and 1 terabyte of data - the intrepid Minecraft users discovered that in-game carts which carried dynamite were still active. Utilizing this exploit players blew up areas of virtual Denmark towns, sometimes placing American flags and tanks in their place. Classy. Chris Hammeken, a DGA spokesperson, stated to The Register in the UK that there were only minor areas affected and that the DGA did not intend to restart the map. Minecraft Server List "We think that it is the nature of playing Minecraft elements are broken down and new ones are being made," Hammeken said. "Therefore we won't re-launch the demonstration of Denmark in Minecraft. We may occasionally rebuild minor areas, if buildings have been removed and nothing is being built. If you'd like to find out what's happened to virtual Denmark, the DGA still has it available to download. [Image: Mojang] Minecraft Server List
